Diabetic
Retinopathy, the damage of diabetes to blood vessels,
is the most common cause of blindness, though it
presents no visual symptoms in its early stages.
Cause of Diabetic Retinopathy
- High sugar level in blood
- High blood pressure
- Length of time the patient has diabetes
(the longer, the riskier)
- Family history of diabetic retinopathy
After the diabetic retinopathy is detected, a
laser treatment can be used to treat patients
during its early stage. |
