Choosing the Right Treatment for the Patient’s Best Benefit
Using every bit of experience… to treat with full dedication
The ultimate goal is to restore a good quality of life to patients — to help them regain physical strength, mental well-being, and freedom from suffering through surgery when needed. However, not all treatments have to end with surgery. Dr. Manoch Sumritsopak, an orthopedic surgeon specializing in knee and hip joints, spine, sports medicine, and arthroscopic surgery, carefully selects the most appropriate treatment plan for each individual. But when surgery becomes unavoidable, he draws on more than 20 years of experience to perform the operation with full dedication and skill.
Orthopedic surgery is a challenging and engaging field. It requires continuous learning and hands-on practice to develop the expertise needed to treat a wide range of conditions in patients of all ages and genders. It also demands the ability to handle unexpected complications. This is why Dr. Manoch pursued further studies in spinal surgery, joint replacement, and minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery — to help as many patients as possible, all while maintaining the highest safety standards.
Continuous learning & development… for successful outcomes
When patients choose to undergo treatment or surgery, it’s because they have hope — and that hope brings with it expectations for successful results and improved quality of life afterward. That’s why the experience of the medical team is a critical factor in the surgical process. Patients who are treated by a team with extensive experience and the ability to handle all kinds of surgical situations — combined with expertise in the latest medical technologies and a commitment to continually learning new techniques — are more likely to have successful outcomes.
For example, newer techniques can result in smaller incisions, less blood loss, quicker recovery, and reduced pain. After a total knee replacement, patients can typically stand and walk within 24 hours.
Building confidence… through clear explanations
Dr. Manoch devotes time to speaking with patients, giving them the opportunity to ask questions and make decisions without pressure. This approach fosters comfort and confidence, helping patients feel truly ready for treatment. These moments give Dr. Manoch the motivation to keep improving — so he can see the joyful smiles of his patients once again.
“Some patients carry emotional stress for years. One of my patients, for example, had suffered an accident long ago but never received proper treatment. Over time, they lost the ability to walk and ended up in a wheelchair, living with disability for years. Eventually, their family discovered that the condition was treatable and brought them to consult with me. I explained every step — the nature of the condition, its complications, and how to prepare for treatment — using models, images, and video clips to help them understand better. Bone and joint diseases are complex and often involve multiple parts of the body. In this case, muscle rehabilitation was also necessary. In the end, the patient was able to walk again — with a bright, joyful expression that was clearly visible in their eyes. You could feel their happiness.”
