一般信息
“Having healthy skin enhances one’s appearance and builds self-confidence. Today, people are placing more importance on skin care. For anyone who is concerned about their skin—be it acne, melasma, freckles, dark spots, dullness, or even wrinkles—or if you’re unsure whether something on your skin might be a dermatological condition, you can come in for a consultation or preliminary checkup. Early diagnosis and treatment can prevent the condition from worsening and help it heal more quickly.”
Education and Inspiration
After earning her Doctor of Medicine degree from the Faculty of Medicine, Thammasat University, Dr. Rutaichanok continued her studies and received a Diploma in Dermatology Practice as well as a Diploma in Dermatologic Surgery and Laser Dermatology from the Institute of Dermatology, Department of Medical Services. She shared her inspiration and experience in the field:
“I’ve always had an interest in beauty and aesthetics. At the same time, there are many patients with skin diseases who need treatment from specialists—some of which are chronic and require long-term care. That’s why I wanted to become one of the doctors who can take care of patients in this field. Treating skin conditions involves identifying the root cause and treating it precisely, which leads to true recovery. I find dermatologic diagnosis and treatment to be both fascinating and challenging. And it also includes helping patients maintain healthy, beautiful skin over time.”
Identifying the Cause for Targeted Treatment
Most patients who come to see Dr. Rutaichanok often present with unexplained allergic rashes. She starts by taking a detailed history, followed by diagnosis and treatment. Another common group of patients includes those with chronic hives. For aesthetic concerns, treatments include managing:
- Scars, bumps, cysts, moles, and abscesses,
often requiring a combination of dermatologic treatment and aesthetic care to restore both health and appearance to the skin.
“Aside from treatment, I always emphasize the importance of prevention—how to avoid future allergic reactions or irritations, and what things patients should steer clear of. All of this depends on understanding the root cause, the patient’s specific skin condition, and their individual context. I also teach patients how to observe their own symptoms—what signs to look out for and when to come see a doctor. Having accurate foundational knowledge allows patients to take better care of their skin in the long term.”
Precision Diagnosis with Modern Technology
At Phyathai 3 Hospital, Dr. Rutaichanok k has access to laser equipment for both treatment and tissue sampling. The hospital also has tools for biopsy procedures, where tissue samples are taken for lab analysis.
“We perform biopsies and send samples to the lab to confirm whether the skin lesion is what we suspect—such as psoriasis or another type of dermatitis. Visual inspection alone often isn’t enough, as many skin conditions can appear similar. Detailed physical examination using standardized and precise tools allows both doctor and patient to clearly understand the issue, leading to more accurate and effective treatment.”
Treating Patients Like Family
Dr. Rutaichanok always informs her patients of the available treatment options, highlighting the pros and cons of each. This empowers patients to decide what they want and how they’d like the outcome to be. She then tailors a treatment plan accordingly for the best possible results.
“I always think of my patients as if they were my own family. I strive to give every case the utmost care—just as I would for someone close to me. No matter what treatment the patient chooses, I ensure it meets the highest standards, with safety and value top of mind.”
