一般信息

“Surgery is a crucial form of treatment that requires the surgeon to possess both extensive knowledge and expertise. Beyond performing surgery, a doctor must also educate patients, offer health care guidance, and provide preventive advice. I want every patient to feel reassured—as if they’re being cared for like family.”

“I want patients to feel lucky to have met me.”

Dr. Kittipong Mankhetkit is a urologist at Paolo Hospital Phaholyothin with over 10 years of surgical experience. Despite being part of the new generation of doctors, he is highly skilled in urological surgeries, including major open surgeries, minor procedures, nephron-sparing (kidney-preserving) and non-kidney-preserving surgeries.

He is especially experienced in kidney stone treatment, covering all approaches: laser lithotripsy, flexible ureteroscopy, and open surgery for stone removal. He is also an expert in men’s health, offering treatment ranging from medications and hormone therapy to the use of modern technologies such as shockwave therapy, which he was among the first to introduce in Thailand. This non-invasive method uses sound waves and allows patients to avoid medication.

“If I could only do a few things, patients might be unlucky. But if I can do everything, patients will feel lucky to have met me.”

Expanding “Options” to improve quality of life

Urological diseases are complex and involve many interconnected systems—kidneys, ureters, bladder, urethra, and even external genitalia. As such, abnormalities can occur in any of these areas: kidney disorders, ureteral issues, bladder problems, urethral defects, penile abnormalities, or abnormal urinary flow. These are often interrelated.

Dr. Kittipong provides a full spectrum of treatments, from medication to surgery. He also ensures patients are offered a variety of treatment options, combining traditional approaches with technological innovations, such as robotic surgery and endoscopic techniques. With more options available, patients can achieve a better quality of life post-treatment.

Dr. Kittipong treats more than 100 patients per month.

Comprehensive explanation for maximum patient benefit

Dr. Kittipong places great emphasis on educating patients about the cause of their condition, not just the disease itself.

“I don’t just talk about the disease—I explain where it comes from. Most patients want to understand their condition so they can take better care of themselves.”

He believes in shared decision-making and informs patients of what to expect both during and after treatment. He also advises on prevention to avoid recurrence. As a result, over 90% of his patients do not experience a recurrence of their condition. His goal is to ensure patients can live happier, healthier lives.

Even in cases where a full recovery isn’t possible—such as late-stage cancer—Dr. Kittipong remains committed to providing the best possible quality of life in a patient’s final stage.

“Even when I know a cure isn’t possible, I still strive to bring comfort to both the patient and their family—so they feel they received the best care possible.”
