一般信息

“Today, stroke is a treatable disease—especially for patients who receive timely medical care. The appropriate use of medication can reduce the chances of long-term disability. Identifying the correct cause also helps prevent recurrence. Additionally, quality and consistent physical therapy can significantly support recovery. Most neurological disorders stem from lifestyle behaviors and age-related degeneration. So beyond treatment, lifestyle modification is crucial. People should learn to eat appropriately, exercise regularly, and practice relaxation to reduce stress.”

Education and expertise

Dr. Teeraparp Kijjawijit earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Faculty of Medicine, Naresuan University. He then pursued a diploma in neurology from the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, completing one year in internal medicine and two years in neurology. To further enhance his expertise, he studied two additional years in the subspecialty of stroke neurology and cerebral vascular ultrasound at Chulalongkorn University.

He shared his inspiration and academic journey:

“Initially, I wanted to specialize in internal medicine, especially in the care of the elderly, focusing on diagnosis and behavior-based treatment. I became particularly interested in neurology because many neurological conditions are common and fascinating—both in diagnosis and treatment. I wanted to help patients with neurological issues regain a good quality of life.”

Specializing in neurology and stroke treatment

As a neurologist, Dr. Teeraparp treats a wide range of brain-related conditions, including:

  • Stroke
  • Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Headache syndromes (such as migraines and tension headaches)
  • Dizziness caused by inner ear disorders (e.g., BPPV) or vestibular neuritis

He provides diagnosis and treatment using medication along with tailored lifestyle adjustments based on individual risk factors.

Given the high incidence of stroke and paralysis, Dr. Teeraparp has worked to improve the stroke patient care system—focusing on fast and accurate diagnosis to enable timely administration of clot-busting drugs and enhance treatment outcomes.
