See your baby’s face more clearly for the first time… with 4D Ultrasound
What can 4D ultrasound check?
4D ultrasound is used to examine the development of the little one, including the position of the umbilical cord, amniotic fluid volume, skull structure, heart, spine, arms, legs, hands, feet, face, gender, length, weight, and even blood circulation. What makes it more special than other dimensional scans is that it can check if the fetus has cleft lip or palate.
When is the right gestational age for the scan?
Actually, 4D ultrasound can be done at any stage of pregnancy, but it is recommended to have it from 28 weeks gestation onwards because this is when the development of various organs becomes more visible. However, if the gestational age is over 32 weeks, the baby may be in a breech position… making it difficult to scan. If it is over 35 weeks, the face may not be clearly visible because the baby starts to turn the head down. Therefore, 28 weeks is considered the best time.
Is it really better than other dimensional ultrasounds?
The working principle of 4D ultrasound is to combine 3D images into a moving picture, allowing parents to see the little one laughing, smiling, raising hands, or waving goodbye. This is the difference… that makes it more special than other types of ultrasound.
Worth the investment
Many mothers may think that 4D ultrasound is expensive and a waste because regular ultrasound gives similar results. But in reality, the cost is not as high as expected, and parents will receive both photos and videos of their baby to take home and enjoy.
But the most valuable thing of all… is being able to check the baby’s development in the womb. If the doctor finds any abnormalities… treatment can be started before it’s too late!!
