
There are two types of lymphoma.
Risk factors
Sex: It is more often found in men than women.
Infection: Helicobacter pylori infection and EBV infection.
Immune Deficiency: HIV patients have more incidences of lymphoma.
Allergy: SLE patients also have more incidences of lymphoma.
Chemical exposure: Insecticides can increase the risk of lymphoma.
Diagnosis
In patients who are suspected to have some risks of lymphoma. After giving this required information to your doctor such as career, environment, key factors of disease. The doctor will provide theses following detections.
1. Biopsy.
2. Providing a bone marrow test to determine if the disease spreads into it.
3. Computed tomography (CT scan).
4. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
5. Bone Scan.
6. PET Scan.
Initial symptoms
• There are lumps on the neck, armpit or groin etc.
• Having fever, cold, chronic coughing and breathing obstruction
• Sweating at night
• Having anorexia and weight loss, also fatigue from unknown causes.
• Tonsil enlargement
• Body itching
• Headache (lymphoma in nervous system)
Main Triggers
• Foods such as chocolate, alcohol, butter, cheese
•Hormonal changes such as taking contraceptives, or having menstruation.
• An environment such as a smell of smoke, perfume, and air .
• sleep deprivation
The stage of lymphoma.
Phase 1: There either has lesion inside the lymph nodes or outside the lymph nodes.
Phase 2: There are lesions inside the lymph node or outside the lymph node. In this stage, the lesion can occur for at least 2 positions.
Phase 3: There are lesions in the lymph nodes or outside the lymph nodes. Which locate on the opposite side of the diaphragm.
Phase 4: The lesions are spread beyond the initial position, such as the liver, marrow, or lung.
