ADHD and Treatment !

The special care for children with ADHD require understanding from parents about the disease as it comes from disorder of the brain not behaviours. However, Dr. Adidsuda Fuengfoo and Dr. Sirinya Teparak has provided some information for all parents as follows:

    • Firstly parents must be a good example by action, language or behavioring.

    • Set a plan for them to do some activities from morning till bedtime.

    • Organize or clear an area for them to do particular activity like reading or doing homework. In addition, please keep in mind that keeping them away from television is a very good thing to do.

    • Some children are easy to lose their concentration. Parents should be close to them and encourage them to finish a work.

    • Parents should order them to do things systematically one thing: one order for example and speaking to them with clar message, short but unstable is very necessary.

    • Encourage children to do activities that are their favorite.

    • If a child is very playful, parent can create the activity links to their personalities such as climbing or running back and forth picking up object.

    • Never use or say negative words such as “silly” “idiots” as that will make children feel bad including physical punishment or saying things embarrass them in a public.

    • The penalty should be reasonable for example letting them know that they have to finish their work before playing otherwise you have to punish them.

    • Motivation: Creating them motivation to finish some works or giving them a reward after mission is completed can make them happy and have more concentration to get to your set goal.

  • Communicate with their teachers to let them help you observe the child’s behavior and do not froget to explain about the disease and its treatment for an effective or proper care.
