Characteristics of Uterine Cancer</h2>
Uterine cancer develops from abnormal tissue growth in the lining of the uterus. It most commonly affects women aged 45 and older, particularly after menopause. Irregularities in menstrual cycles—whether they are shorter, longer, or accompanied by abnormal bleeding—can indicate the presence of uterine cancer. Many women mistakenly attribute these symptoms to menopause and neglect them, allowing the cancer to progress rapidly.

Co-occurrence of Uterine and Breast Cancer</h2>
When uterine cancer occurs alongside breast cancer, it is referred to as &#8220;synchronous cancer.&#8221; Both types stem from hormonal imbalances in women. Thus, they can arise and develop concurrently. One significant factor contributing to hormonal imbalances is obesity. Women with higher body fat may have elevated hormone levels, especially affecting the uterus and breasts. 
 
The risk of concurrent cancers is particularly associated with prolonged exposure to estrogen, which can stimulate both breast and uterine tissues. This hormonal stimulation may affect the uterus first, with breast cancer potentially developing later, although this is relatively rare. The incidence of such cases is increasing, as many Thai women are experiencing higher rates of obesity.

Can Uterine Cancer Be Cured?</h2>
Uterine cancer can be treated successfully if detected early. In stage 1, approximately 70% of patients can survive for five years. In stage 2, about 50% of patients are expected to live for five years. At stage 3, the survival rate drops to about 30%, and at stage 4, only about 10% of patients survive. 
 
Statistics indicate that in Thailand, uterine cancer accounts for 1.7% of all cancers in women, predominantly affecting those aged 35-80 (approximately 1.73%). About 65.7% of cases occur in women over 50, and roughly 50% of uterine cancer cases are found in obese individuals, while the other 50% are in women who have never given birth.

Methods for Treating Uterine Cancer</h2>
Uterine cancer screening can be performed through ultrasound, which measures the thickness of the uterine lining. A thickness greater than 1 cm is considered abnormal. The procedure starts with applying gel on the abdomen to facilitate sound wave transmission. An ultrasound transducer is then placed on the abdomen, and images appear on the screen for further diagnosis.

Prevention Tips for Uterine Cancer</h2>
To reduce the risk of uterine cancer, it is essential to:

<li>Exercise regularly.</li>
<li>Maintain a balanced diet that meets nutritional needs while avoiding high-fat foods that contribute to obesity.</li>
<li>Schedule regular breast and uterine examinations, especially for women aged 45 and older and those who have never given birth, as they are at higher risk for uterine cancer.</li>
