Diabetes, Thyroid, and Endocrine Center

Diabetes Currently, Thailand has up to 3 million diabetes patients, found in all genders and ages, but more commonly in the age group over 40 years. The chance of developing diabetes increases and is rapidly rising every year, which is a result of lifestyle changes such as consuming high-fat foods, very sweet foods, stress, and lack of regular exercise.
Diabetes is an important public health problem caused by the pancreas producing little or no insulin hormone. This hormone helps the body metabolize sugar for energy. If sugar is not used or not fully used, it causes abnormally high blood sugar levels. Poor blood sugar control in diabetic patients leads to various chronic complications.
Complications affect the eyes, kidneys, heart, blood vessels, and nerves throughout the body, resulting in diseases such as vision impairment, premature cataracts, retinal degeneration, kidney failure, coronary artery disease, and stroke. If the severity of the disease increases, it becomes difficult to restore the function of affected organs. Therefore, diabetes treatment is not only about controlling blood sugar levels but also focuses on detecting, preventing, and treating possible complications.

The Diabetes and Endocrine Center provides care for patients with abnormally high blood sugar levels, including comprehensive treatment for endocrine disorders. The team consists of diabetes and endocrine specialists, dietitians, physiotherapists, and professional nurses who provide patient care.
