<li style="">Measles (Measles or Rubeola) is caused by the Rubeola virus. It spreads easily and quickly through coughing, sneezing, close breathing, or sharing items. It is commonly found in children aged between 2 to 14 years, those who have never been vaccinated against measles, and people living in crowded conditions.</li>
<p style=""><span style="color: #008080">Symptoms</span> In the early stage, infected individuals will feel tired and fatigued, have a fever, cough, red eyes, and white spots appear in the mouth, followed by red rashes on the skin. The rash usually starts from the face and spreads down to the body. In severe cases, it may affect the middle ear, lungs, and brain, or even cause death.</p>

<li style="">Mumps (Mumps) is caused by the mumps virus, which affects the salivary glands and sometimes the nervous tissue. It spreads through droplets of saliva and contact with the saliva of infected individuals.</li>
<p style=""><span style="color: #008080">Symptoms</span> Pain from inflammation and swelling of the salivary glands, usually around the cheeks, fever, and sometimes complications such as deafness or brain infections. In adolescents, it may cause infection of the testicles or ovaries, which can affect fertility.</p>
<li style="">Rubella (Rubella) is caused by the Rubella virus, which can live in the human body for up to 1 year. It often spreads in crowded places, with the virus present in nasal mucus and saliva. It is transmitted through coughing, sneezing, or contact with infected nasal mucus or saliva.</li>
<p style=""><span style="color: #008080">Symptoms</span> Most infected individuals take about 14 to 21 days to show symptoms. However, if a pregnant woman is infected during the first 3 months of pregnancy, it can be very dangerous to the fetus, causing birth defects such as brain atrophy, deafness, cataracts, heart disease, etc.</p>

<h2 style=" color: #008080;">Who should get the MMR vaccine?</h2>
<ul>
<li style="">All Thai children should receive 2 doses: the first at 12 – 15 months old and the second at 4 – 6 years old.</li>
<li style="">All women of childbearing age who have never had these diseases and have never received this vaccine before (should use contraception for at least 3 months after vaccination).</li>
<li style="">Students who have never had these diseases and have never received this vaccine before and are planning to study abroad, such as in the UK, Canada, or the USA, should receive 2 subcutaneous injections at least 1 month apart.</li>
<li style="">Medical personnel and soldiers starting work.</li>
</ul>
<h2 style=" color: #008080;">These people “should NOT” get the MMR vaccine, did you know?</h2>
<ul>
<li style="">Those with a history of severe allergic reactions to the vaccine or to neomycin or gelatin.</li>
<li style="">Pregnant women.</li>
<li style="">People with immunodeficiency, such as those on long-term steroid treatment, cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy or radiation therapy.</li>
<li style="">HIV patients with advanced symptoms or severe immunodeficiency (can receive the vaccine if in good health).</li>
<li style="">Those who have received blood, blood products, or immunoglobulin should consult a doctor, and sick individuals should delay vaccination.</li>
</ul>
<h2 style=" color: #008080;">Side effects after receiving the MMR vaccine</h2>
<p style="">After vaccination, there may be pain, swelling, redness, and warmth at the injection site. Apply a cold compress. After 6-12 days, there may be fever, rash, and swollen lymph nodes, which are usually mild and resolve within 2 – 3 days. Adults often experience joint pain, but it usually resolves within 1-3 weeks. If severe side effects occur after vaccination, see a doctor immediately.</p>
