Prepare for development before starting school PTP

Are your little ones ready to start school? Nowadays, many parents enroll their children in preschool around the age of 2-3 to help them begin learning to read, write, care for themselves, and develop social skills with peers. However, parents often wonder if their child is truly ready for school and how to prepare them.
Age alone isn&#8217;t always the best indicator of a child&#8217;s readiness, as each child develops differently. Parents should set appropriate expectations and understand that a child&#8217;s readiness for school depends on several factors, including the child&#8217;s personal development, the school&#8217;s environment, and the family&#8217;s preparedness. Here are some areas to focus on to help your child prepare for school.

<li>Physical development: Ensure your child is healthy, strong, and has good motor skills, both fine (e.g., holding a pencil, picking up objects) and gross (e.g., walking, running). They should be able to perform basic self-care tasks appropriate for their age.</li>
<li>Social and emotional development: Your child should be able to adjust to the school environment, separate from parents without distress, and interact well with peers. This includes sharing toys, taking turns, expressing emotions appropriately (e.g., saying when they are angry instead of hitting), following rules, and completing tasks assigned by the teacher.</li>
<li>Communication skills: Your child should be able to communicate their needs (e.g., expressing hunger or needing to use the bathroom) and understand instructions. This includes basic language skills, as well as the ability to comprehend stories and develop early writing and drawing abilities.</li>
