Cervical cancer is highly preventable when caught early. Our ThinPrep Plus HPV DNA package is a “Co-Test” that combines two powerful screenings into one visit. By looking at both the health of your cells and the presence of high-risk viruses, we provide a level of accuracy that a traditional Pap smear cannot match.

What is the “Co-Test” Advantage?

This package uses two different diagnostic methods to ensure nothing is missed:

1. ThinPrep (Liquid-Based Cytology):An advanced version of the Pap smear. Instead of smearing cells on a slide, they are collected in a liquid that filters out blood and mucus. This results in a clearer sample and a much higher detection rate for abnormal cells.
2. HPV DNA (High Risk 15 Genotypes):A molecular test that identifies the 15 most dangerous strains of the Human Papillomavirus (HPV). These specific “High Risk” strains are responsible for nearly all cases of cervical cancer.

Why Screen for 15 Genotypes?

While there are over 100 types of HPV, only a small group is linked to cancer. This test specifically targets the 15 high-risk genotypes (including the most aggressive types, 16 and 18), allowing us to:

• Identify Risk Early:Detect the virus even before cellular changes occur.
• Personalize Care:Knowing which specific strain is present helps your doctor determine how closely you should be monitored.
