Girls love sitting cross-legged… get ready for a crooked spine
The cross-legged sitting posture is very comfortable but hides a dangerous threat close to you. Ladies who habitually sit cross-legged, did you know it can seriously affect your body to the point of causing a crooked spine!!
What does the spine have to do with sitting cross-legged?
Sitting cross-legged causes the torso to tilt and lose balance constantly. The body has to shift weight to one side. When the spine and back muscles become imbalanced for a long time, the spine can become “crooked.” Over time, this may lead to rapid degeneration or inflammation of the intervertebral discs.
But sitting for a short time won’t cause symptoms?
When the large blood vessels and nerves around the thigh are compressed, blood circulation becomes restricted. The heart has to work harder to pump blood, which can cause numbness and soreness in the thigh area.
How to prevent it?
For treatment, the best solution is to try to avoid sitting cross-legged or alternate legs and change posture every 20 minutes to reduce the chance of back pain and help the body reduce excessive workload.
