Moving forward towards international standards to ensure that business operators, companies, and all service employees are confident that the occupational health services provided and advised by Phyathai Hospital 1 are in accordance with standard guidelines, accurate, and fully compliant with legal requirements. Continuous quality development is maintained, and occupational health tools are certified and scientifically accurate.

Additionally, there is a rehabilitation medicine team and physical therapy personnel who have been trained and certified as Matheson’s Certified Functional Capacity Evaluator and Matheson’s Certified Ergonomic Evaluation Specialist from the United States, the first group in Southeast Asia. They can assess patients referred from corporate clients and determine appropriate return-to-work plans after injury or illness in any case, including ergonomic problems related to work.

Assessments : Health risk assessments and analyses are conducted regarding exposure to occupational hazards. Health surveillance plans are designed, including appropriate health check-up packages. Additionally, personalized health risk assessment programs are used, considering chronic disease factors, occupational risks, and health-risk behaviors to plan health care.

The Phyathai Hospital Network and Paolo Hospital Network have pioneered comprehensive health care to enhance organizational capacity in caring for employees’ health and reducing risks of occupational and lifestyle-related diseases. This is done by introducing a health care method called Let’s Get Healthy (LGH) Thailand Application, developed by BDMS in collaboration with OHSU, for corporate clients and employees to raise awareness of their physical and mental health risks. It also provides organizations with an overview of employee health status through Health Productivity Management (HPM) Reports, which help design appropriate employee health care, manage health care costs, and improve work efficiency, as well as sustainably promote a healthy culture within organizations.

Analysis : Data from general health check-ups and occupational health are analyzed individually and statistically for organizations to identify problems and collaboratively find health promotion strategies both individually and organizationally. This aims to prevent chronic diseases in the future, improve health from chronic conditions, reduce complication risks, lower medical expenses for employees and organizations, and increase productivity.

Adaptation : Creating models to change attitudes and behaviors for better health in at-risk groups.

The Phyathai Hospital Network and Paolo Hospital Network have established the Health Up team to promote employee health awareness and lifestyle changes beneficial to at-risk employees. This multidisciplinary team includes occupational medicine specialists, occupational health nurses, human resources, physical therapists, various medical specialists, and marketing staff. They design diverse health development programs tailored to specific health issues for maximum effectiveness, such as disease-specific programs, individual-specific programs, and occupation-specific programs.

Acknowledges : Academic research is conducted to support occupational medicine operations and build confidence in corporate organizations, with referenced academic studies.

  • In collaboration with BDMS and OHSU, the Impulsivity Behavior Survey (Impulsivity) was translated, which affects lifestyle, work, and behavior modification. The original Barratt Impulsiveness Scale (BIS 11) was translated into Thai with copyright permission, based on research. This survey has been proven effective and was translated for use with Thai research participants and published by BDMS and OHSU in a psychological research journal (Juneja et al., 2019) (Psychiatry Research).
  • In collaboration with BDMS and OHSU, research was conducted on the Let’s Get Healthy Thailand Diet Survey Validation, studying the accuracy of a dietary behavior questionnaire for Thais regarding the risk of non-communicable diseases in the Let’s Get Healthy program.

Applications : Various applications have been developed for corporate employees to understand their health and risks, as well as tools and guidelines for self-improvement towards better health.

  • Let’s Get Healthy (LGH) Thailand Application is used to assess personal behaviors that pose risks to physical and mental health.
  • Health Up Application is used to view health check-up results and receive recommendations for lifestyle adjustments to improve health.
