IUI (Intrauterine Insemination) procedure: injecting sperm into the uterine cavity

Options for Infertile Couples Close to Natural

IUI or intrauterine insemination is a treatment method for infertility that mimics the natural fertilization process by selecting strong and motile sperm and injecting them into the uterine cavity during ovulation to increase the chances of fertilization and pregnancy.

Who is it suitable for?

  • Men with minor issues such as low sperm count or poor sperm motility
  • Women with irregular ovulation or PCOS
  • Couples having difficulties with natural sexual intercourse

IUI Procedure

  1. Ovulation stimulation The doctor will prescribe ovulation-stimulating medication to increase the chances of pregnancy
  2. Monitoring egg growth Ultrasound is used to check the size and number of eggs
  3. Sperm collection The male partner will collect sperm at the hospital on the scheduled day.
  4. Sperm preparation Selecting strong and motile sperm.
  5. Insemination Using a small catheter to inject sperm into the uterine cavity during ovulation.
  6. Rest after insemination Rest for about 30 minutes after the procedure.
  7. Pregnancy test After 2 weeks, the doctor will schedule a pregnancy test

Advantages of IUI

  • The process is simple and close to natural.
  • Less expensive than other treatments such as IVF.
  • Suitable for couples with minor or unexplained infertility issues

Limitations of IUI

  • Not suitable for women over 40 years old or those with fallopian tube problems.
  • Not suitable for men with severe sperm problems.
  • If multiple IUI attempts fail, other treatment options may need to be considered
