It is said that health is a close matter, yet it seems as distant as dust particles. This is similar to the near-death experience of Mr. Komkrit Tankanpai, Marketing Support Manager at a private company, who has spent almost half his life working in the health sector. Due to his responsibilities, Komkrit’s salaried life rushed forward so fast that sometimes he felt 8 working hours were too short. Some days he had to bring work home, which clearly changed his daily routine. He went to bed no earlier than midnight, ate irregularly, and chose to eat only his favorite foods such as soda, pork knuckles, and fried foods, which are not beneficial to the body. These behaviors continued for 8 years, unknowingly accumulating illnesses in his body. Until one day, Komkrit felt unusual fatigue from movement. His daily activities slowed down, he felt tired quickly, walked slower, experienced frequent shortness of breath, and noticed sweat beads appearing on his face and pores, which had never happened before. However, Komkrit still pushed himself hard, believing that he had annual health check-ups.

When he felt increasingly tired and exhausted during activities, he decided to have a more detailed health check-up than usual. The results were normal, but his blood pressure, cholesterol, and bad fat levels had started to rise, which was a warning sign that he needed to take better care of his body.
Then the warning signs returned again. After nearly 2 years without a health check-up due to increased work responsibilities, his health care regarding diet, rest, and exercise was no longer adequate. Later, during daily activities, he began to experience pain radiating down his left arm for about an hour before the pain subsided, but numbness in the same arm persisted for 3 days. On the 4th day, in the morning, he started to feel chest pain and tightness, along with palpitations, shallow breathing, and pain radiating down the left arm that worsened. Importantly, this time he was sweating profusely all over his body. After about an hour, all symptoms eased but he still had to press his hand on his chest constantly.
After more than 2 hours, while working, the same symptoms recurred twice. The last time, besides the recurring symptoms, he felt dizzy and nearly fainted, so he decided to see a heart specialist immediately.

A heart that needs treatment
After the cardiologist diagnosed his condition, blood tests, X-rays, and further examinations and treatments were immediately performed. The doctor used a method of injecting dye into the major blood vessels for about 15 minutes to check which arteries were narrowed. This procedure required an incision at the thigh to insert a needle into the major blood vessel and guide it near the heart to release the dye, without anesthesia or sedation. The results showed two narrowed arteries. Then, he underwent balloon angioplasty.

He needed about 1 month to recover, but thanks to new treatment innovations, after balloon angioplasty, he could resume daily activities. At the same time, he had to change his lifestyle habits: get enough rest, exercise regularly, and importantly, eat nutritious food and have annual health check-ups. After treatment, for about a year and a half, the doctor closely monitored his condition, and afterward, he returned to regular health check-ups as before.
