Fibroscan is a device specifically used to detect liver cirrhosis. It is easy to perform, painless, similar to an ultrasound, based on the reflection of sound waves which are then interpreted to assess liver cirrhosis, liver fibrosis, or fatty liver to determine the severity of the disease, as well as to monitor treatment results.
Preparation for the examination
- Do not eat or drink for at least 4 hours.
Who should undergo the examination
- Those with hepatitis B or C virus
- Those who regularly consume alcohol
- Those with hepatitis
- Those with fatty liver
