Doctor recommendation! How parents stop their children from throwing things

One-year-old child has their muscles (Fine Motor Skills) developed gradully picking up stuff and throw to play and see what will happen next such as a kid may crush a bag and hear sound or make object hitting against each other to hear a sound from this, if they feel fun an action will be repeat and when they grow up emotions will be more complicated For example they may do it due to anger or calling for attention and if parents do not know how to response and handle their behaviours properly this behaviour can become more intense in the future.

And how to teach your child to stop throwing things ?

    • Do not place dangerous items that are breakable easily next to your child.
    • Tell your child that what they can throw and what cannot such as you may create an area for them to throw a ball and allow them to play with it but not with food and appliances.
    • If the child starts throwing things while they are angry or displeased parents must calm themselves down and be mindful to speak with children. For example, a mom may say that it is ok to be angry but she or he is not allowed to destroy and throw things around a house.
    • Talk to your children about what will happen when they start throwing things so that they have to be responsible for what happens such as making them clean a mess or not allowing them to use anything after doing it including stopping them from going outside to play with friends.
  • Parents must be a good example for their children in every form of reaction such as expression of emotions knowing how to control anger and not throwing things when they are angry.
