How to do IVF?
The IVF is made by fertilizing of egg cells and sperm outside the body the embryo then would start developing and growing and be transferred back to the uterus. As mentioned, the doctors will examine or check reproductive capacity as follows:
-
- Check the quality of the sperm
-
- Provide blood test to see quality of hormone levels
-
- Provide pelvic examination and ultrasound
-
- Laparoscopic surgery in gynecology (required case)
Indications for IVF
-
- Multiple ovarian cysts
-
- Endometriosis
-
- Ovary tube obstruction
-
- Weak sperm
The IVF Process is as Follows:
-
- See your doctor when you have discharge to receive a check by a doctor which allows him to see hormone levels.
-
- Have Ovary medical stimulation for about 7-10 days to increase numbers of matured eggs.
-
- Have Ultrasound to track the growth of egg.
-
- When the eggs are fully matured and grown, they will be stimulated with medication, couple will have to come back for egg and semen storage on the next 2 days after.
-
- Both, sperm and matured eggs will be in laboratory for fertilization process.
-
- Mostly the embryo will be cultured in lab about 3 days, for Blastocyst stage culturing process requires 5 days approximately.
-
- Embryo Transfer will be done on day 3 or 5 depends on a condition of the embryo.
-
- Hormonal medicine will be provided to a woman to prevent Placental abruption and to conserve the process for the high quality of pregnancy in the future.
-
- After 12-14 days of the transferring, receive blood test.
What is ICSI?
Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) is fertilization approaches outside the uterus using large needle to suck the best sperm then inject to the egg cells of a woman to stimulate the fertilization of both egg and sperm. After that, a doctor will take embryo for culture before transferring to the uterus.
What is Blastocyst Culture? ?
Normally, the embryo transfer takes approximately 2-3 days after the eggs are stored and reach the stage 8. If the embryo is cultured until day 5, after the storing the embryo will reach blastocyst stage. It is the most effective for the embryo to embed inside the uterus means there is high chance of success during this time. Regarding difficulty of culturing, there will be only 40-60 percent of the embryo that survive to the blastocyst stage.
